As an interior design consultant I spend most of my time advising clients on the importance of having a home that reflects their personality and individual style.  However, when it comes to selling a property the opposite is true.  The main aim should be to create an interior that prospective purchasers can visualise themselves in.  This may involve neutralising colour schemes or de-cluttering, but equally it may be that the addition of textiles or accessories are required to give your property the ‘wow’ factor and set it apart from others on the market. 

Sometimes it is difficult to take a step back and assess your home from a buyers perspective, this is because we become so acclimatised to our surroundings it can be hard for us to be objective.  It may be that you require a fresh pair of eyes to look at your home and advise you how best to dress your property to maximise it’s selling potential
